We all want to dodge the conversations about not having money to pay when we said that we would pay. We spend days or weeks living in fear of having our insurance lapse or our lights turned off. I spent months doing it. Here is what I have learned; you dont have to do that. Talk to your insurance company. Talk to your power company, talk to your phone company. Most of the time if you contact them BEFORE you are delinquent they will grant you an extension. Its not amazing feeling. No one likes being broke. But telling someone you’re broke verses sitting in the dark and paying a reconnect fee is pretty much a no brainer.
